In recent times, we have seen a marked increase in the frequency and prominence of Financial Crime failings within financial institutions. Both large and small banks have been caught out by an ever increasing range of ‘bad actors’ with ever more ingenious ways of working around the the system.
This session will provide an inside look at anatomy of these failures and highlight the often surprisingly simple steps that, had they been taken, might have prevented disaster.
The session will be led by Saima Hanif from 3 Verulam Buildings and Nigel Webb from FTI Consulting. Saima is a Financial Services specialist who has acted in a number of high profile disputes including the Forex Manipulation scandal and 1MDB. Nigel heads FTI’s Financial Services practice and is actively involved in investigations into financial crime on behalf of regulators worldwide.
